In 2026 MiDeer held market-entry proposals, strategic assessments and research discussions with several New Zealand companies exploring China. None has signed. We publish this page for transparency — all companies remain anonymous.
Overview
This is a deliberately short page. During 2026 MiDeer provided market-entry proposals, strategic assessments and category research to a number of New Zealand export companies weighing China — across food and beverage, seafood, health products, energy, technology and consumer goods. Every company involved is anonymous, and their specifics are not described here. What binds these conversations together is an outcome, not a sector: each ended at the proposal or research stage, and none has progressed to a signed engagement.
What has genuinely happened: proposals were prepared and delivered, research was undertaken, and the resulting material is with the companies concerned — most of it still under internal evaluation. No contract has been signed with any of them.
Why we list these conversations at all: not every advisory conversation ends in a signed engagement, and we think that deserves to be on the record as much as our successes. Proposal and research work of this kind still has value — it lets a company decide about China on evidence rather than impression — but it is not client work, and we do not present it as such. This page will be updated only when genuine, verifiable progress occurs with any of these companies.
